The new frontier of digital media has been one exciting innovation after another, and drone camera technology in particular has seen major technological advancements in the last decade. While more popularly used by filmmakers and content creators, aerial drones are also being utilized for search and rescue, conservation, and even deliveries. Following these updates at the break-neck pace they roll out and deciding for yourself can be difficult, but DJI has made decisions easier with the DJI Mavic 3 Pro.
The Mavic series of drones are lauded for their premier imaging and convenient portability, which the DJI Mavic 3 Pro has in spades, but DJI’s latest flagship model is now equipped with three cameras instead of just two. The magic of the new triple-camera system begins with a 24mm 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad Camera providing brilliant image and color quality. Producing true-to-life video and color similar to what the human eye would perceive, the new camera is ideal for capturing vast landscapes and striking wildlife. The upgraded 166mm Tele Camera has a wider f/3.4 aperture and 7x optical zoom providing higher resolution and 4k video. Last but not least, the third camera is a new 70mm supporting 3x optical zoom, 48MP resolution, and can shoot video at 4k/60fps, offering the user more dramatic backgrounds. All three cameras are capable of recording in 5.1k Apple ProRes and come with the intelligent features DJI’s Mavic series is known for.
On top of the omnidirectional obstacle sensing, a 43-minute flight time, 15km HD Video Transmission, and world class tracking, the three lenses allow creators to gather different angles and shots, empowering them to capture precious moments in time from countless perspectives. And the seamless transition through the three focal lengths also gives creators the option to try different compositions.
With its innovative three-camera system, the DJI Mavic 3 Pro is an impressive update in this series, and is currently available for $2,199 through their website.
