NFTs — short for Non-Fungible Tokens — have taken the art world by storm, and everybody is trying to get a piece of the action. However, the flooding of the market has made it pretty difficult for any single piece to stand out, necessitating just a little more uniqueness in order to leave the rest of the pack behind. And that’s exactly what Canadian 3D artist Vini Nascimento has managed with this spectacular Dissrup collaboration with Swedish craftsman Love Hulten.
Unlike many other NFTs, this joint effort — titled I Miss You — comes in two parts. First, there’s the artwork itself: a rotating animation depicting two flora-covered lovers locked in an eternal embrace. But there’s a second, more corporeal aspect: a handmade digital display marked by a metal case with a trio of simple controls, powered by a pair of Raspberry Pi computer chips to ensure the artwork is displayed seamlessly and smoothly. Those aforementioned controls also allow users to manipulate the art — pausing, freezing, or cycling between frames at their leisure. The official, full release of this NFT one-two punch will occur at SuperRare on June 14th.
