Whether it’s because of road conditions, weather events, or other drivers, riding a motorcycle can be extremely dangerous. But at least a portion of that danger can be mitigated by wearing the right gear. That just got a whole lot easier thanks to the Dianese Smart Jacket.
The name is a bit of a misnomer, as the Smart Jacket isn’t a jacket at all. Rather, it’s a vest equipped with the brand’s D-air technology — a seven-sensor system that detects dangerous situations (courtesy of a complex, 1,000-readings-per-second algorithm) and deploys a life-saving airbag only when necessary. The culmination of over 20 years of development, this vest also boasts the same safety as Level 1 armor (despite not having hardshell protection), has a 25-hour battery life between recharges, is lightweight and compact for easy storage, and is even ventilated and breathable for comfort all-year-round. Available this July, the Dainese Smart Jacket will sell for $699.
