Devialet Updates Its Hi-Fi Phantom Speaker With Better Audio & Connectivity

When Devialet debuted its Phantom Bluetooth speaker back in 2015, it was met with high praise for its unique design aesthetic and impressive audio quality. As such, the French-based hi-fi specialist was quick to build on its success, incrementally rounding out the lineup with a more budget friendly Phantom II and an ultra-luxe Phantom Gold.

However, given that it’s now been some five years since the original hit the market, we’re long overdue for an update. Enter the Phantom I, the newest flagship Devialet Bluetooth speaker. Like its predecessor, it comes with a sleek, pill-shaped outer case. But once you dig a little deeper, you’ll find that it’s been overhauled for even better sound. For instance, it features Devialet’s next-gen audio chip, an addition that gives it lightning-fast signal processing as well as improved amplification performance. What’s more, it’s also been fitted with a more efficient thermal dissipation unit, allowing it to be four times as efficient as the first Phantom. And when you consider that it now comes with support for Apple’s Airplay 2 streaming, the Phantom I makes for quite the superior successor. Available in 103dB and 108dB flavors, you can buy it for $2,200 and $3,200 respectively.

Purchase: $2,200+
