DeTomaso’s Pantera Looks Outstanding As A Modern Widebody Supercar

Originally produced all the way back in 1972, the Italian stallion known as the DeTomaso Pantera was one of the greatest supercars ever to be built — renowned for its iconic styling and potent mid-mounted engine options. Sadly, this automotive jungle cat went out of production in 1992 and has yet to be revived. However, if it were to be brought back to life, we hope whoever does it takes a page out of Crane Designs’ playbook, as this widebody concept looks outstanding.

By and large, this unique reimagining retains the original Pantera’s spirit and the bulk of its styling. But it does have a few significant updates — namely a widebody kit that gives it an extremely aggressive, low stance, which matches beautifully with its ultra-wide Goodyear Eagle F1 slick tires. The kit and wheels are also accompanied by bold decals stretching the length of the wheelbase and solid white rear wheels that complete the package marvelously. We can only imagine what kind of power this bad boy could have today — perhaps a horsepower figure in the thousands, maybe even produced by electric motors. As mentioned, this is only a concept for now… but we hope it doesn’t stay that way.
