Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes Trailer

May 12, 2014

It pained us to have to leave Rise of the Planet of the Apes off our 50 Best Sci-Fi and Fantasy Movies of All Time list. Not only because it really was a great movie, but also because it was that ultra-rare breed: a franchise reboot that doesn’t wholeheartedly suck. If the trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is any indication, these monkeys might just bludgeon their way onto our list after all.

Looking much darker and more intense than the 2011 film, the trailer shows us how after escaping from the labs, the apes settled into the woods, seemingly to mind their own business. But, of course, humans, as they always do, muck things up. The amazing Andy Serkis is back as the CGI-fueled Casear, and the addition of Gary Oldman to the cast only amps up the potential classic factor. You ready to go bananas on July 11?
