Originally commissioned by a Russian entrepreneur and billionaire, La Datcha 77 is a 252’ arctic-grade superyacht that was built by elite Dutch outfit, Damen Yachts. With a fully-fortified hull and reinforced superstructure, this yacht’s icebreaker-status enables it to crack through sea ice as thick as 16” ultimately allowing it to explore arctic locales that regular superyachts wouldn’t dare venture to — all while sporting some very plush amenities.
Boasting seriously well-appointed luxury accommodations for up to a dozen guest including two master cabins and two VIP suites, the six-deck boat packs an indoor jacuzzi, outdoor jacuzzi, full gym, sauna, steam bath, massage room, multiple helicopter hangars, a dive center, a decompression chamber for either of the two submersibles the vessel carries, plus a pair of snow scooters and jet skis. This expedition superyacht is available for rent, though the cost is reportedly a staggering $850,000 a week — or a little over $10,000 a head per day — and that’s before factoring in the cost of the more than two-dozen crew that the vessel requires to operate.
