While they might not hold much sway over the North American market, Suzuki’s Jeep-like Jimny has made waves in the oversea market for a number of years. Now, DAMD, a Japan-based aftermarket proprietor, is releasing a tailor-made “Dronco” package for consumers who are hoping to take their small SUV in a direction that’s a bit more Bronco-like — pun entirely intended.
This compact, but capable SUV is widely-revered for its dependability, bulletproof ergonomics, and boxy silhouette, lending itself nicely to design styles often associated with the likes of Land Rover and Mercedes. But, with the Jimny’s compact body style, DAMD’s approach to the creation of bespoke body panels to mimic Ford’s iconic SUV might seem like second-nature. Calling upon a desaturated baby blue body, white rear, and American styling throughout, this pint-sized platform adopts similarly-shaped front and rear fascias, vintage steel wheels, and even an external ladder to create something undeniably unique. If you live outside of the United States, keep your eyes peeled for the aptly-named Dronco Body Kit to hit production near the end of 2020.
