CRKT Chanceinhell 18″ Machete
If you’re not already familiar with Ken Onion, you should be. He is one of the most prolific knife designers of our time. But his designs aren’t just numerous; they’re also incredibly well thought out. So whenever one of his new products – or in this case, a new spin on an existing product – comes to light, it rarely, if ever, disappoints. And that appears to be the case with one of his newest collaborations with Columbia River Knife and Tool, the Chanceinhell 18″ Machete.
Machetes are pretty imposing tools as they are. So it takes a spark of genius to make them even more so. As you can plainly see, this one achieves just that. Its massive blade, which is made from 65Mn Carbon Steel, features a corrosion resistant powder coat finish. The football-textured handle is crafted from thermoplastic rubber and has a polypropylene core. The overall length of this beastly deforesting tool is 23.625″ including the handle – which means that, yes, the blade is actually 18 inches long. It also comes with a reinforced nylon sheath so, when you’re not hacking at foliage, you can keep it safe and secure at your side. You can pick one up today for just $80.
