Cracked Log Lamps by Duncan Meerding

What if we told you that a blind man was designing interior lighting that looked like something out of a movie? Introducing Duncan Meerding and his Cracked Log Lamp design, which takes pieces of wood and illuminates them from within to highlight their naturally occurring cracks.

The Cracked Log Lamps use warm yellow LEDs to create the unusual glow. Each cracked log lamp can be used as a stool, table or a light accessory, and they look like something you’d find at an outdoor resort. Or a Pixar movie. The logs have been responsibly salvaged from nature and re-purposed. These Cracked Log Lamps are roughly 400mm high and 300mm wide, and are retailing for $640. [Purchase]
