Coney Island Boardwalk Camping Knife
Tis the camping season, and that means it’s time to scoop yourself up a new blade. While there’s certainly no shortage of good knife options out there, this Coney Island Boardwalk camping knife is unlike anything you’ve seen thus far.
We all know the kind of damage that Hurricane Sandy did to New York, and it also left Coney Island with a ton of driftwood scattered throughout the area. Well NY-based brands Horse Brand Co. and Surname Goods decided to put those scraps to good use, giving them new life as knife handles. The reclaimed Ipe wood is mated to a high-carbon steel blade inspired by the traditional Scandinavian blades of yesteryear. Each and every knife was made by hand at the Horse Cycles workshop in Brooklyn, has been hand stamped with the “Horse” logo, and features a blade that has been meticulously honed and brushed for an ultra sharp edge. Each knife also comes with its own sheath crafted from vegetable tanned leather, and fasted with gorgeous brass rivets. [Purchase]
