Columbia Debuts Their Most Advanced Thermal Reflective Tech Yet

Columbia Sportswear has long been a leader when it comes to developing new ways for adventurers to conquer the outdoors, and now the brand is at it again with their most advanced thermal reflective technology ever: Omni-Heat Infinity.

An evolution of their NASA-inspired Omni-Heat tech that first debuted a decade ago, Columbia’s Omni-Heat Infinity allows the wearer to stay warmer for longer periods of time, without sacrificing any breathability. It accomplishes this by way of thousands of tiny gold-colored metal dots, applied discontinuously across the fabric of a garment’s liner. The dots efficiently reflect your own body heat back to you while leaving enough space in between themselves to allow the clothing to breathe. Columbia is cheekily referring to this new tech as the “gold standard in reflective warmth,” and they’ve wasted no time in outfitting a slew of products with it. From gold dot-lined gloves, hats, and boots to jackets, vests, and pants, you can find the entire range of Columbia’s Omni-Heat Infinity gear at the brand’s website.
