Every winter season there are a bevy of releases of new, cool looking winter boots for trekking around the snow in. Many are more showy than they are utilitarian, but the newly announced Canuk Titanium Boots from Columbia Sportswear promise to be quite the opposite.
These boots integrate two of Columbia’s most highly revered technologies, as well as a brand new outsole made in collaboration with Michelin Tires. For those who find themselves in particularly cold weather often, the Canuk boots include a healthy bit of insulation along with the Columbia’s proprietary Omni-Heat reflective layering on the interior that bounces heat back towards the wearers feet. Along with helping to protect adventurers from frostbite, the OutDry Extreme Waterproof construction on these boots will make it so wearers can keep totally warm while still maintaining a degree of breathability. Columbia didn’t just stop there. For solid traction that will hold even when on the iciest part of the trail or mountainside, they enlisted Michelin tires to build a brand new outsole featuring something they’re calling Ice Control. In short, this thing is all grip, no slip and warm all around. Oh, and did we mention that they look great, too? When these hit retail in September 2017, they’re expected to sell for $200. [Purchase]
