Collapsible Belt Scooter
Like manners and YouTube comments, you’d probably think that belts and scooters have nothing to do with each other. But hold on, oh doubtful one, because in the case of young designer Adam Torok, they come together as one.
His Belt Scooter invention is both wearable and rideable, as it’s a fully-functioning scooter when unfolded, and when you get to your destination, it wraps up around your waist, weighing just 1.7kg. Torok created it for his degree project while at the University of West Hungary’s Institute of Applied Art. Damn. We made a pencil holder once in shop class, but that’s about it. Torok used plywood and iron to build this nifty little prototype, which was shown at the 2014 Budapest Design Week, while the next version is in development.
