Cold Steel Chaos Bowie Knife

While it’s fair to say that all bladed tools have some measure of combat stitched into their history, it’s undeniable with the bowie knife. Still, in spite of its violent past, it’s also become one of the most useful outdoor fixed blades available, when done right. And the new Cold Steel Chaos Bowie is about as right as it gets.

From its 10.5″ clip point, black-finished, full-tang, SK-5 high-carbon steel blade to the 6061 aluminum handle (complete with a finger guard and glass breaker hilt), it’s clear this knife draws inspiration directly from the trench knives of WWII. But those styling cues combined with modern materials also make this an excellent survival knife, ready for hard use in outdoor situations. The whole package is completed by an ultra-durable, ultralight, MOLLE-compatible Secure-Ex sheath — which can be attached to either a tactical pack or just your belt loops. Pricing is set at $120.

Purchase: $120
