Coalatree Reissues Their USA-Handmade Survival Fixed Blade

Back in 2014, the folks at Coalatree unveiled an American-made survival blade called the Haswell that quickly became a fan favorite — up until it went out of production. Now, at the behest of outdoor enthusiasts everywhere, the brand is reviving their Haswell Survival Fixed Blade Knife for a limited time.

Set to launch on IndieGoGo soon, this blade is a loving recreation of the original. That means, once again, it’s completely handmade by master craftsmen — including individual leather sheaths made by fabled Utah leatherworker, Diamond Jim. Measuring up at 9.5″ overall (with a 4.5″ blade), this knife boasts 1095 high-forged carbon steel mated to a brass-riveted walnut handle — combined in a traditional Scandinavian format for a minimalist workhorse blade that will serve you well for decades or more. This master-quality, handcrafted bushcraft survival tool will sell for $159 each, once it finally hits the shelves. But only a limited number will ever be made, so you’ll want to jump on it quickly.
