Two years after the release of their $55K Chevrolet Camaro ZL1-based “Exorcist” upgrade package, Texas’ Hennessey Performance Engineering is back with an even more bonkers follow-up version of the kitted ZL1, dubbed the “Resurrection”. Recently unveiled at SEMA, the so-called “hyper-muscle car” sees the ZL1’s LT4 engine jettisoned in favor of the Corvette ZR1’s LT5 V8, which has been heavily upgraded and tuned to make over 45% more power than the already potent 755hp stocker.
Hidden beneath its custom carbon fiber hood are upgraded pushrods, intake and exhaust valves, valve springs and retainers, and fueling system, plus CNC-ported LT5 cylinder heads, custom HPE camshaft, high-flow intercooler system with heat exchanger upgrade, stainless steel headers and mid-pipes with high-flow cat converters, 112mm billet aluminum throttle body upgrade, and a CNC-ported LT5 2.65L Supercharger with up-specced pullies and belt. All that massaging ultimately affords the kitted Camaro a cool 1,200hp and 1,000ft-lbs of torque, which translates to 2.3-second 0-60mph times and a top speed exceeding 220mph. Rounding out the Hennessey-built Camaro is a special black and white graphics package. In total, Hennessey will produce only 24 examples, which can be purchased through Chevy dealers or directly from HPE at a price of $200,000.
