Outerknown & CHEER Built A Recycled Sustainable Wetsuit For Surfing

Outerknown is one of the modern man’s most trusted menswear providers, and since the company was founded, it was obvious that its focus on surf/ocean culture was here to stay. For many, it came as a surprise to see that a brand run by the world-famous surfer, Kelly Slater, didn’t feature its very own wetsuit offering. But now, that’s about to change, thanks to a partnership with CHEER.

After badgering the company’s designers for a bespoke surfwear lineup, buyers are finally getting what they wished for. To ensure that the brand’s newest products were well in-line with its already-established offerings, Outerknown sought the expertise of CHEER, citing that the outfit’s devotion to sustainability, preservation, and high-quality craftsmanship, is second to none. The aptly-named L/S Wetsuit Top is their first collaborative offering, gifting wearers with a 2mm iteration that ditches the industry’s traditional use of neoprene for a premium, FSC-certified Hevea rubber, and recycled fabric construction. Each of the garment’s seams has been triple glued, stitched, and bonded for exceptional watertight wear, complementing the suit’s asymmetrical quarter length zipper or easy on and off.
