Few things exhume British automobiles more than the Caterham Seven, which is why the car manufacturer releases variants on the tradition build. It’s a way to shake things up several times a year. This year, Caterham decided to put together a vintage throwback variant to the ‘60s and in celebration of their 60th anniversary in 2017. So what better place to unveil such a car than at the 2016 Goodwood Revival?
Dubbed the Caterham Seven Sprint, this little roadster is powered by an 80hp, three-cylinder Suzuki engine, already found within their Seven 160 model. The chassis is powder-coated gray, alluding to the Series 2 Lotus 7 and features a rollover bar, flared front wings, a polished exhaust silencer, and rear lights that reflect the retro period Caterham is attempting to emulate. The perks don’t end there either. A wooden-rimmed sports steering wheel and scarlet red dashboard, hosting a classic instrument layout adorn the interior of the Spirit. Meanwhile, the interior panels and the Moorhead Scottish seat upholstery are hand-stitched and finished in scarlet red as well. A perfect leisurely roadster for the British countryside. They’re available for factory order but you better hurry, as Caterham only plans on building 60 of these little Sprints. Priced around $37,000. [Purchase]
