Adventure vans are all the rage. But a super-stocked vehicle can be bulky and cumbersome. If you’re a part-time adventurer, you might be in the market for a more casual vehicle. The multi-functional Caravan Outfitter Free Bird Adventure Van is the ultimate in versatile camper vehicles, without worrying that you might brush the roof on the highway overpass.
The Free Bird camper van is built out of a 2019 Nissan NV200, much smaller than those gigantic Mercedes Sprinters that usually serve as bases for adventure vans. Each camper is built with a Slide and Glide floor, which allows all adventure components to be installed and removed in under two minutes. This lets owners keep the vehicle as a typical cargo van when an outdoor adventure isn’t on the agenda. When it is, the Free Bird can transform into a fully-capable camper, equipped with features like a large storage box that houses the deep cycle auxiliary battery, which in turn powers LED lighting, two USB power ports, and a 31-quart fridge. The kitchen area sports a portable butane stove, storage drawers, and a fairly large dining area to chow down (or play cards/board games). For extra flexibility, the dinette can be folded down and slept on in a comfortable space with plenty of leg room.
