Despite an ongoing global pandemic, Canoo has been having an incredibly active year, with the Los Angeles-based EV outfit showing off its modular 500hp “Skatekart” electric vehicle platform shortly before unveiling its proton-powered ‘Multi-Purpose Delivery Vehicle’ (or “MPDV”). And it appears the Socal startup has no intentions of slowing day, as the firm has just rolled out yet another all-new offering with the Canoo Pickup Truck.
Offered with dual or rear motor setups generating up to 600hp and 550ft-lbs of torque, the Canoo Pickup boasts an enormous array of modular, integrated fold-down workbenches, cargo areas, dividers, and a 21” bed with a pullout extension. Other noteworthy elements include a massive area of built-in LED lighting, onboard charging ports, a 48” x 54” roof rack, 1,800b payload capacity, steer and brake-by-wire tech, and a 200+ mile range. The Pickup was also designed to lend itself to off-road and Overlanding applications and can even accommodate a myriad of camper shells. Canoo will begin accepting preorders in Q2 of 2021 with deliveries scheduled to commence in Q1 or 2023, and though pricing hasn’t been announced, the $33,000 MSRP of Canoo’s EV delivery van suggests the pickup will likely be pretty affordable.
