California-based EV startup Canoo made waves in the auto industry when it debuted its fully-electric ‘Lifestyle Vehicle’ back in 2019. With its true steer-by-wire control, spacious modular seating, and game-changing ownership subscription model, it gave us a promising first look at the future of four-wheeled transport.
With the unveiling of its ‘Multi-Purpose Delivery Vehicle’ (MPDV), Canoo has added a second offering to its existing electric lineup. Billed as a van that’ll offer “maximum productivity, efficiency, class-leading cargo volume, and cost savings,” it comes with a number of innovative features (and an eye-catching design) that set it apart from the competition. For instance, the cabin has been created from the driver down, with inset panels for keeping essentials and an onboard bidirectional charger for powering your devices. What’s more, it boasts 30% more cargo room than similarly-sized vans, with the MVPD1 featuring 230 cubic feet of total storage capacity and the MVPD2 an impressive 500 cubic feet. And when you consider that it’ll be powered by an electric motor good for 200hp, 236lb-ft of torque, and up to 300 miles of range, the MPDV makes for the perfect eco-friendly adventure van.
