Cannon’s EOS R3 Camera Is Designed For Motorsport & Action Photographers

Over the last few years, the camera industry has increasingly been catering to once niche applications such as vloggers and other content creators. And for Cannon’s latest release, the Japanese firm is taking this approach with the EOS R3, a new cutting-edge flagship full-frame mirrorless camera designed specifically for professional action and motorsport photographers.

Boasting a magnesium alloy body with an integrated vertical grip, the EOS R3 features a full-frame, back-illuminated stacked CMOS image sensor, an electric shutter operation, 4K video compatibility, and Wired LAN and 5GHz Wi-Fi4 connectivity. What makes the R3 so conducive to action and motorsport photography is its use of “Deep Learning Technology” which offers increased performance and markedly better tracking capabilities with a special vehicle subject recognition detection system that can identify and track cars and motorcycles. The camera also features Cannon’s new Eye Control AF function that allows users to set up a focus point in the viewfinder by merely looking at the display — a first for Cannon’s EOS R series. Cannon has also debuted a pair of special lenses made specifically for the EOS R3, with one being a 400m item and the other a 600mm unit.
