Platforms and cots provide a number of major benefits when camping, separating you from uncomfortable rocks and roots in the dirt, mitigating moisture collection and condensation, and getting you up off of the cold, unforgiving ground. And it was these advantages that prompted the team over at Kamp-Rite to start designing and producing all-in-one “tent cots” just before the turn of the millennium. The Sacramento-based company has subsequently spent the last two decades steadily refining its wares, culminating in the release of the Kamp-Rite Double Tent Cot.
Built around a powder-coated aluminum framed platform standing 11” above the ground, the tent is constructed from heavy-duty 190T nylon and is fitted with corrosion-resistant zippers, internal pockets, and No-See-Um Mesh on all windows and doors. A unique multi-function hinge design allows the cot to be converted to a lounging camp chair, as well as for an easy setup. The Double Tent Cot measures, 84” L x 53” W x 40” H though the company also offers a two-person “Compact Tent Cot Double” with an 85” L x 55” W x 41” H-sized tent. Sold with a heavy-duty 600D carrying case and a fitted waterproof rainfly. the Kamp-Rite Double Tent Cot is available now with pricing set at $300.
