Buzzfeed Tasty One Top
A lot has changed since 2006; online dating is no longer considered weird, smartphones are everywhere, and Buzzfeed has become a media giant. Yeah, Buzzfeed. The small blog that once only dealt in cat videos and Twilight quizzes has grown exponentially, employing hundreds of people, boasting numerous verticals, and now, apparently, launching its own kitchen appliance. Introducing the Buzzfeed Tasty One Top.
Made in partnership with the GE Appliance First Build Team, this hotplate is designed to communicate with Tasty’s newly launched smartphone app to help you cook up to nearly 1,700 recipes. All users need to do is scroll through the extensive catalogue of video recipes created by Buzzfeed’s Tasty team, select one, and the plate will adjust intuitively. Cooking pancakes? It’ll set to the exact temperature and time that Tasty’s app calls for. It’ll even notify you when you need to flip your flapjack. For more precise measurement, the Bluetooth connected stovetop comes with a thermometer to help track the internal temperature of your meats and sauces. In essence, it’s an appliance that functions like a recipe – giving you real-time updates on how to cook the meal that you’ve selected. Word is still not in on whether it’ll tell you if you’re Team Edward or Team Jacob.
