Since the brand’s inception just before the turn of the millennium, Bulleit has produced a wide range of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskeys. And it’s this diversity that the Diageo-owned outfit is celebrating with its latest release, Bulleit Blenders Select No. 001.
This limited-edition 100 proof bourbon is born out of a calculated blend of drink from three of the American distilleries the company sources its bourbon from — each of which was hand-picked from more than 100 other blends from Bulleit’s female master blender, Eboni Major. Unlike the majority of the liquid to come from the Kentucky operation — which is aged between six and eight years — this new limited edition blend has been aged for no less than nine years. The unique mixture is said to highlight specific flavors and aromas found in existing Bulleit offerings, with the Blenders Select said to boast notes of vanilla bean, dried fruit, toasted oak, and a finish with hints of fruit and sweet cream. Slated for a release in the coming weeks, Bulleit Blenders Select No. 001 has been priced at $50 (for the 750ml size).
