Bucket Board Skateboards Made From Garbage

Well, we just saw one of the sharpest product videos we’ve ever seen… and the product it’s for, skateboards made from trash, is pretty damn cool in its own right.

In an awareness-raising effort for the World Wildlife Fund’s upcoming Earth Hour (March 28, 8:30PM local time), the environmental group linked up with Brooklyn artist Mac Premo to create something special. What he and Encinitas, California-based skateboard company Sanford Shapes came up with was to use discarded buckets from construction sites and turn them into skateboards. Behold the Bucket Board. With no material costs involved in their production, the boards involve only some TLC on the prep and assembly side. The goal is to get these skateboards to kids who don’t have much—a noble cause indeed. The Bucket Board is expected to go on sale in coming months. [Purchase]
