Buck Creek House In Big Sur, California
We’ve triple checked this, because at first it didn’t seem right, but apparently the design of this beautiful three bedroom home by Fougeron Architecture in Big Sur, California, was inspired by… the banana slug.
Buck Creek House is tucked into the slope of a cliff that hangs a dramatic 250 feet over the Pacific, and there’s plenty of chances to take in that magnificent view with the big glass wall on the north side of the structure. To the south there’s a copper-covered wall, while that copper extends further over the roof to help shield the home from the elements. And an all-glass library guarantees you’ll be doing at least a little bit of reading. Perhaps doing some research on the underappreciated beauty of the banana slug?
