Brabus Loads A 789HP Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen With 3D-Printed Armor

Over the past month, Brabus has revealed an extensive line of automotive offerings catered toward every different style of driver, ranging from sporty urban SUVs, all the way to aesthetically-oriented luxury offerings. But one thing that wasn’t expected was the unveiling of the INVICTO Series’ Mercedes-Benz G63 — an armored wagon built as an escort vehicle for “special target groups.”

To stay in-line with OEM factory armoring standards, Brabus has adorned the G63 in its proprietary INVICTO Shelter Cell technology, which utilizes hot-formed steel plates, innovative 3D-printed protection parts, and other explosion-resistant properties to garner its VR6-rated ballistic protection. The G-Class SUV will arrive in three different trim levels — PURE, LUXURY, and MISSION — each with its own directive for use. The MISSION, for example, was built to take on the world’s most formidable complications, adopting MOLLE door panels and seat backs, an Acetech system with two touch control panels and a digital rear display, and optional lightning and signal systems, complementing features like night vision and an internal fresh air system. Paired with a 789-horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, Brabus’ armored vehicle might just be the perfect platform for special operations where luxury is key.
