Brabus Channels Its Stealth Roots With The Black Ops 800 SUV

Following hot on the heels of the 800 Shadow that was announced by Brabus at the start of June, the German company has created yet another interesting take on one of Mercedes most prolific platforms, the G63 AMG. Dubbed the Black Ops 800, this super-SUV aims to bury distraught competitors through the implementation of gratuitous horsepower, an aggressive body kit, and a limited-edition production run.

As with most of Brabus’ incredulous vehicles, the Black Ops doesn’t shy away from its ulterior motive — to bring ridiculous performance figures and unique styling to one of Mercedes’ most popular platforms. The G63 AMG is already a well-equipped vehicle in its own right, but in typical tuner fashion, the company has decided to strip the SUV of its original powerplant for something a little more absurd. A Brabus-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 capable of over 800 horsepower and 737 lb-ft of torque has been implanted within the machine’s engine bay, helping it to accelerate from 0-62 in just 4.1 seconds before hitting its 150 mile-per-hour top speed. But that’s not all — on the exterior, a Brabus Widestar widebody kit, 23-inch Brabus Platinum Edition hi-tech forged wheels, and an all-black gloss paint finish leave the vehicle in adversarial standing. If you’re interested in acquiring one of only ten examples to ever be built, contact Brabus directly for more information.
