If you’ve ever seen the film Tropic Thunder, you’ll likely remember Robert Downey Jr’s character, Kirk Lazarus. It might seem like an odd parallel to draw, but it’s the easiest way to describe fostla.de’s newest aftermarket tuning project, the Brabus 700 WIDESTAR G-Wagen.
The Mercedes-Benz you see here is, in fact, an aftermarket model that was massaged by the genius hands at Brabus before falling into the ownership of Hannover, Germany’s fostla.de. In much of the same manner as Downey Jr’s caricature of Kirk Lazarus, an iconic actor who becomes mixed up in his own reality after taking on various different roles, the duality of customization presented by fostla’s Brabus-branded 700 WIDESTAR is, for lack of a better term, confusing. Regardless, the vehicle still retains much of its original identity, including a 700 HP twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, a carbon fiber bonnet/rear spoiler, and a sporty exhaust system originally designed and gifted to the Benz by Brabus. On fostla.de’s end, you’ll find that the luxury SUV has been lowered by 30mm, placed on a new set of wheels, and tires, and updated with a fiber optic LED roof liner, reminiscent of a star-filled sky.
