Bowmore’s First Annual 30-Year Scotch Was Aged In Its Iconic Vault No. 1

Since its founding in 1779, Scottish-based Bowmore Distillery has been crafting some of the most well-respected single malt scotches in the world. Their releases typically come both highly sought after and with quite the premium price tag, making it difficult to get your hands on an expression if you’re not quick on the draw or packing deep pockets.

However, with the debut of its first annual 30 Year Old single malt, Bowmore is adding a new aged expression to its lineup. After being distilled in 1989, it spent three decades on Islay in the legendary No. 1 Vaults, maturing in a combination of sherry hogsheads and bourbon barrels. What results is a beautiful cask-strength scotch that clocks in at a cool 45.3% ABV. On the nose, you’ll find scents of bananas, peaches, pineapple, and butterscotch before transitioning to a palate that has notes of tropical fruit, peat smoke, and eucalyptus. Inspired by the passage of time, each boxed set comes with driftwood-like markings and a polish reminiscent of sea glass. You’ll have to act fast though — there are only 2,580 bottles up for grabs. Buy it today for $2,500.
