Bowmore 1966 50 Years Old Scotch

Dec 5, 2017

Category: Vices

It was 50 years ago that Bowmore bottled their first batch of Islay whisky. Now, half a century later, only one cask remains from that very first batch after being set aside in Bowmore’s No. 1 Vaults.

Each bottle comes presented in a handmade crystal decanter complete with sterling silver adornments that are then housed in a handcrafted cabinet built from high-quality Scottish oak. Also, thanks to 50 years spent in an ex-bourbon hogshead cask, this Islay offers elegant bursts of pineapple, lychee, and watermelon, transitioning into light floral notes and finishing dry on the palate. Only 74 bottles of this rare expression have been produced – a portion of which become available in the US this month for purchase with a suggested retail price of $30,000 per bottle.
