Following the announcement of Bose’s new Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 and Earbuds 700, the company has also unveiled a set of compact alternatives to the wildly popular Airpods. These next-generation earbuds look to provide adequate competition for Apple’s successful foray into unwired tech, giving buyers an affordable alternative that boasts the company’s revered sound hardware.
The Bose Earbuds 500 Compact Headphones are minimalist in every sense of the word. The company’s first endeavor into the world of true wireless, the SoundSport Free, suffered from a large, bulky design and unattractive structure — both of which were the product’s greatest downfalls. Clearly, Bose has learned from their mistakes, slimming down the 500’s overall presence, as well as its weight. Aside from being sweat- and water-resistant, not much is known about the technical aspects of the newly announced earbuds; but Bose has confirmed the integration of intuitive touch controls and access to both Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa — all powered by the company’s Augmented Reality technology.
