Booker’s Backyard Barbecue Bourbon

The combination of Bourbon and Barbecue is something of a southern delicacy. Now that summer is upon us, the perfect pairing is back in season, and whiskey distiller Booker’s Bourbon is supplying the world with the beverage that a true southern cookout requires. Booker’s has just released its latest batch, and the Booker’s Barbecue Bourbon is the perfect sidekick to your barbecue plate.

Booker’s Bourbon is a small batch distillery created by Booker Noe. Noe was known for his bourbon-cues, in which he used his employees and friends as Guinea Pigs to try out his cooking – and more importantly, his latest batch of whiskey. Tying that tradition up in a neat little bow, bottling it up and redistributing it seems the perfect way to commemorate Booker’s Bourbons humble beginnings, and they’ve done just that with their latest batch. For 6 years, 2 months and 10 days this whiskey sat, untouched, absorbing a warm, rich flavor of maple and vanilla as it lay it wait to be cracked open at your barbecue, and enjoyed in a setting not dissimilar from Booker’s original trial grounds. At 128.8 proof, this delicious Bourbon is the other barbecue sauce that you need this summer.
