It’s an undeniable fact — the summer is meant for long days under the scorching sun and memorable surf trips with your friends. And although camping along the beachhead to be the first squad on an early morning break has been something people have done since day one, BoardSwag is looking to optimize your experience with a modular bag that’ll both protect your prized quiver and double as an inflatable tent.
The company’s new surf tent starts out as a handsomely designed travel bag that can fit up to three shortboards, and at seven feet in length, it’s a prime candidate to protect your gear during a day out on the water. A one-foot interior depth ensures the perfect fit for your quiver, wetsuits, fins, and leashes, while a heavy-duty 600D Polyester and rip-stop nylon construction help to protect the bag from the wear and tear of everyday use. Dual-density foam padding is utilized on virtually every surface of the bag’s interior to keep the rails of your board in top condition and work alongside additional reinforcement areas to protect the tip and tail of your seaworthy-sled from dings and pressure dents. The tent portion of the bag features inflatable struts that replace traditional tent poles, and since they’re comprised of air and fabric instead of metal and composite components, only 1.5-kilograms of weight is added to the overall build of the bag. The tent is no slouch in the size department, either — clocking in at a healthy seven-foot in length, four-foot in height, and four-foot in width that can be set up in under a minute. Keep your eyes peeled for BoardSwag’s impending Kickstarter campaign, slated to start as early as April 2019.
