BMW R65 ‘Willoughby 65’ by VTR Customs

Warmer days and extended weekends spell happiness for just about any habitual rider. So when we came across this seasonally-appropriate BMW R65 that got the love it deserved from Switzerland-based VTR Customs, we knew that this particular build could indeed be the feel-good hit of the summer. Especially since the power behind this ride, dubbed Willoughby 65, is no slouch either.

After receiving a notable upgrade via an 865cc Big Bore Kit, this low ride Brat style bike now pushes out enough juice to burn through those upcoming dog days of summer. VTR also hooked the ride up with a reworked cylinder head, a custom 2-in-1 exhaust system, two Keihin FCR 39 carbs, a rear light integrated into the frame, vintage blue paint for a classic appearance and a 1950s fishing rod and ’60s paddle because you never know where the road might lead you this season. It’s not for sale but the bike does open our minds a bit into the talent and potential VTR Customs has up its sleeves.
