The owners of Relic Motorcycles know what to ride when it comes to custom bikes, especially co-founder Jonas Sabel. His personal bike clearly demonstrates the amount of heart and soul he poured into the project. Previously a Yamaha fan, sporting an XS11, he decided to give the world of old boxer twins a chance. We’re thinking he made the right decision.
He picked up this old BMW police bike from the 80s in the South of Denmark in 2015 and decided to give it a proper overhaul. Dubbed the “Black Baron,” this R100S features a bad-looking black matte carbon tank, specifically done to make the bike stand out. He also removed the rear section of the frame, detabbing and cleaning up the old metal. The center rear section of the frame was then extended to mount a handsome Biltwell Harley solo seat. The frame was then repainted and fitted with twin Hagon 420mm shocks, powdercoat applied to the wheels, and a set of Continental TKC 80 Twinduro tires were added. As a final touch twin cutaway exhausts were installed, along with custom bent handlebars and a set of Biltwell grips to finish off the build. Well done.
