Taking one of BMW’s classic Boxer motorcycles and turning it into something truly unique is an objectively difficult process, but the payoff is certainly worth the effort. To celebrate Bolt Motor Company’s 30th custom build, they’ve crafted this beautifully-realized BMW R100RT — an homage to the pride, and passion administered for each and every project.
For Bolt’s most recent undertaking, they were met with the momentous task of creating something entirely different than other customizers. With a platform as prolific as the R100RT, the prospect of an untainted build — whether it be through outside influence, or inspirational directive — is something of a catch 22. Luckily, the team at Valencia’s premier cycle shop was up to the challenge. To kick things off, they outfitted the BMW with an MV Agusta front suspension, and a triple lower seat post from the MV Agusta F4. The introduction of an electronic installation system, which includes a new ignition system, switchboard, and rectifier-regulator, complements the cycle’s thoroughly refurbished powerplant. But the most interesting peripheral happens to be the exhaust, which has been crafted from a single piece of hand-formed metal, without the need for welds.
