Take the picturesque Italian landscape and Steve McQueen’s Great Escape as inspiration for a motorcycle and, when executed properly of course, you have the recipe for one outstanding scrambler. Officine Sbrannetti, a custom bike workshop located on the Northwestern coastline of Italy, has done that with excellence, appropriately naming their build “Elegant Escape.”
The bike in question here is a BMW R100GS scrambler, designed to be slender in stature but simultaneously offering powerful performance to the rider. Obviously, the R100 engine was left intact though the good folks at Officine Sbrannetti did hook the bike up with a Mass Moto exhaust system and Kawasaki tank bearing a leather strap that features the workshop’s emblem on the side and number of the motorcycle on top. The seat is custom made by LRLeather and boasts a warm brown tone that pairs well with the backcountry of Northern Italy and it features a new LED stop light, new electric instruments and two front lights. It’s a handsome scrambler that’s reminiscent of the famed bike McQueen used to evade the German army at the climactic ending of the film and looks to facilitate a lucky someone’s own personal escape into the winding mountain roads of Northern Italy.
