Few builders would be willing to strip down an entire BMW R100 to its bare essentials prior to a custom project. Then again, not all builders share the same sentiment as Austrian-based National Custom Tech Motorcycles, who looked to completely rebuild this old stylish boxer. Whatever the case, their efforts certainly weren’t in vain seeing how they got our full attention.
Called the “Black Stallion,” the engine initially received a notable upgrade with a series of new pistons, cylinders, camshafts and a fresh paint to top things off. The airbox was subsequently replaced by a set of velocity stacks and National Custom Tech welded an intricate exhaust system to the bike as well to help everything breathe. NCT also re-did all the wiring with a Motogadget m-Unit and a Lithium-ion battery to power everything up. The build also received an Ohlins shock in the rear and Showa upside down in the front compliments of a Ducati 900 Super Sport. It also rides atop a set of dual-sport Heidenaus tires, hosts a cowhide seat, LED headlights, and Motogadget speedo and switches. Classy, modern and sleek. Sounds right up our alley.
