BMW R nineT ‘Hera Project’
Looking more like a sculpture than a conventional motorcycle, the artists at South Garage Motor Co. chiseled a masterpiece out of their BMW R nineT ‘Hera Project’ for Chop and Roll Magazine.
Launching the project with a mundane R nineT as the base, the bike was brought down to its bare bones before being resurrected. Starting with the body, Metalbike Garage was brought on to shape the elegant lines of the single piece aluminum fuel tank that is cradled by a handmade leather saddle. New suspension from Öhlins was slapped on front and rear to give an off-road ready feel for the beauty, and assures the Metzeler dual sport tires find traction wherever they are pointed. Finally the motor was fitted with engine guards and a handmade titanium ‘high-pipe’ style exhaust, giving enough clearance and piece of mind to throw this Beemer into even the sloppiest of berms.
