For decades, BMW GS motorcycles have been the go-to bikes for exploration across the most remote and difficult terrain on our planet. It’s all thanks to bike’s boxer flat-twin engine in conjunction with sheer ingenuity from the renowned German brand. Now, BMW Motorrad is positioned to release the world’s first series-production all-wheel drive travel motorcycle featuring a hybrid drive.

Based on the R 1200 GS Adventure, this sweet ride features an air/liquid cooled flat twin engine boasting an output of 125 hp. Additionally, thanks to the bike’s wheel-hub e-Drive system that’s activated either automatically or manually by the rider, the bike features a combined output of 170 hp. The two-wheel drive system can also be engaged for a little extra juice and acceleration power while a number of customizable riding modes are available that affect how the system operates as well. It’s all controlled via an interactive LED display. The bike will become available during the second half of 2017 along with pricing and optional equipment features.
