BMW x LEGO Technic Hover Bike

A few months ago, we covered the Lego Technic BMW R 1200 GS Adventure motorcycle model. We knew then that this was the start of a beautiful relationship. We were not, however, prepared for what the pair would release next. Using that same model as the base, BMW Motorrad and Lego Technic have paired up again to release this incredibly cool Hover Ride concept model.

This is where it gets a bit tricky. Apparently, using the 603 pieces included in the R 1200 GS Adventure bike set, it’s possible to repurpose them into a futuristic flying motorcycle model. In fact, alternate instructions for it are included with the kit. Well, the BMW Junior Company – a unit of the company’s trainees focused on entrepreneurial projects – took it upon themselves to take that repurposed Technic model and build a full-scale version of it. And they built some parts – including the wheel-rim propeller – especially for the project, demonstrating an incredible amount of talent and creativity. This Hover Ride Concept Design feels like more than just a neat sci-fi project. It could very well be a look into the automotive future. And that future is a bright one indeed.
