2017 BMW Motorrad HP4 Race Superbike

For a daring and lucky handful of avid riders, BMW Motorrad is offering up 750 editions of their factory racing bike, dubbed the HP4 Race bike. It’s the first-ever production motorcycle featuring a main frame made exclusively out of carbon fiber. Combine that with a wildly impressive powerplant in this thing and you have a recipe for one mean ride.

According to BMW Motorrad, the HP4 boasts an incredible output of 215 horsepower and 88.5 lb-ft of torque thanks to its World Cup level engine. Oh yeah, and that carbon fiber frame? Well, it weighs in at just over 17 pounds, which is comparable to a mountain bike. Both of the wheels are carbon as well, meaning this bike weighs a total of 377 lbs. It also features Brembo brakes, Öhlins suspension, and several safety features – including Dynamic Traction Control, Engine Brake EBR, and Wheelie Control – to help the rider keep control of the bike. Each motorcycle will also be individually handcrafted to order. No word on pricing just yet.
