When it comes to BMW’s automobiles, the E30 M3 is legendary — considered near-perfect by car fanatics around the world. While altering one might seem like blasphemy, the folks at Redux have a very different outlook. To them, their version of this vintage vehicle is a fittingly-evolved tribute. After getting a good look at it, we’re inclined to agree.

As you can tell with a cursory glance, the spirit of the car is still very much intact — though there have been some fairly noteworthy alterations. For starters, the interior now features Recaro seats done up in premium Alcantara and leather, the dash gets a modern digital display, and there are a number of other optional upgrades for customers to pick from (like a personalized sound system). Outside, the vehicle has been completely stripped down and rebuilt, including bespoke components crafted by the brand’s own metalsmith and the addition of carbon fiber. And while there are a big bunch of performance upgrades — like a reworked performance suspension — the highlight is undoubtedly the reworked 2.5-liter turbo engine that’s good for 387 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. Only 30 of these magnificent Bimmers will be made with a wait time of up to 24 months. Pricing has yet to be revealed.
