It’s no secret that Alpina has been the industry’s saving grace when it comes to road-tested performance vehicles. They’ve spent a fair amount of time modifying, customizing, and enhancing BMW’s various platforms straight off of the production line, bringing consumers the quick, robust vehicles that they’ve been longing for. Now, the company has decided to appease the brand’s wagon-loving followers with the new BMW Alpina B3.
The BMW Alpina B3 Wagon is a great-looking addition to the company’s expansive catalog, but aesthetic qualities can only go so far. To make the car as capable as possible, a Bi-Turbo direct-injection straight-six 3.0-liter engine has been implemented, gifting the B3 an awe-inducing 462-horsepower and around 516 lb-ft of torque. The tourer is able to reach speeds of over 186 miles-per-hour, making it the fastest vehicle in its class. Pair that with the B3’s eight-speed automatic gearbox and enhanced all-wheel-drive system, and you’ve got quite the platform on your hands. To keep up with all of the car’s performance enhancements, Alpina has opted to include a new sports suspension for balanced handling, variable sports steering, and a high-performance brake package to make stopping a breeze.
