If you’re a fan of BMW’s 8 Series lineup, you’ll likely know that the segment’s cars can be obtained in a variety of different forms and trims, including a convertible, coupe, Gran Coupe, and M8 edition. But every once in a while, the brand’s exclusive personalization branch, BMW Individual, promotes a limited-edition finish for its most die-hard fans. The 8 Series “Golden Thunder” that you see here is one such example, boasting a handful of attractive interior and exterior upgrades, as well as two striking new colorways.
The BMW “Golden Thunder” treatment can be applied to any of the cars within the 8 Series, and arrives in two distinct iterations: the ice-inspired “Frozen Black” metallic, and the shadowy “Sapphire Black.” To ensure that the vehicles stay true to their name, they’ve also been accented by golden peripherals and components, with prominent aspects like wheels, side skirts, bumpers, and mirrors taking on the tasteful premium hue. Inside, drivers will find that the 8 Series’ examples have also been outfitted with specialized Merino leather trim, aluminum mesh effect gold, and a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system. Of course, the Golden Thunder series isn’t all about looks. Each vehicle also comes with the company’s M sports package as a standard feature. Head over to BMW’s website to learn more about the limited-edition offering prior to its September release.
