Vintage inspired bikes have been making a strong comeback on the custom scene in recent years, and projects like the “Black & Tan” Yamaha XS400 from the team at Hold Fast Motors show us exactly why.

The Austin based custom motorcycle shop run by Andy Hull took a 1979 Yamaha XS400, and turned it into a rough and rugged scrambler perfect for any retro loving bike enthusiast. The vehicle was inspired by the classic Triumph that Steve McQueen was riding in “Great Escape,” and features an all black paint job contrasted by a tan leather seat and saddlebags – hence the “Black & Tan” name. The knobby tires are a solid finishing touch to the 70s beauty. [Via]
