Big Rush: World’s Tallest Rope Swing
What do you do with a massive stadium that was built specifically for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and is struggling to book events since then? That’s easy, hang a rope from the top of the stadium and charge people to come jump off.
Big Rush is located in South Africa, atop the Moses Mabhida Stadium, and it boasts the title of the world’s tallest rope swing. This isn’t some self proclamation either (a lot of people do that these days to increase business). Big Rush actually holds the Guinness world record. Adrenaline junkies (like Matthew Karsten pictured above) can either ride a Sky Car or hike 550 stairs to reach the top, but there’s only one way down. There’s no turning back once you reach the catwalk some 350 feet in the air. Get ready for some of the most adrenaline pumping moments of your life as you swing at speeds of up to 75 miles per hour.
